Active Care
As trained experts in anatomy and biomechanics, our doctors often prescribe specific exercises or stretches in order to re-enforce proper muscle/motor patterns. Following a prescription of exercises can be important in order to achieve each patient's goals as quickly and effectively as possible.
Our Techniques
Advantage Chiropractic incorporates an "active care" model which encourages patients to become active participants in their health. Most of these exercises can be performed safe and effectively at home following an in office demonstration by your doctor.
Assisted stretching is a form of stretching where our doctors help you stretch your muscles more effectively. We gently move your body into different positions to help lengthen and stretch your muscles. Our most common technique utilized is proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF).
Therapeutic exercises are assigned as a sort of “homework” for patients to help compliment and accelerate the healing process. Similar to a dentist’s instructions to brush your teeth twice a day and floss once a day, exercising/stretching should be a part of your daily routine if you want your spinal health and overall wellbeing to be maximized.
